Director
Colin De Beer

Greetings to all participants attending XIAMUN XI!
My name is Colin de Beer, and I am proud to serve as the Director of XIAMUN. Through my involvement in international Model United Nations conferences and the Global Youth Leadership Conference (GYLC), engaging with the United Nations Headquarters in New York, I have developed a strong passion for student leadership, diplomacy, and global collaboration. XIAMUN is more than just a conference — it is a platform for collaboration, critical thinking, public speaking, and meaningful global dialogue. We warmly welcome delegates from all backgrounds to Xiamen International School and look forward to an inspiring conference filled with diplomacy, leadership, and unforgettable experiences.
Director
Fiona Lv

Greetings to all participants attending XIAMUN XI!
My name is Fiona Lv, and I’m an EAL teacher in the Secondary School at XIS. This is my second year serving as MUN Director, and it’s been quite a journey. When I first took on this role, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect—but I quickly realized that MUN was so much more than debate .
It became a space where I could witness the students transform. I’ve seen shy students find their voices, hesitant speakers grow into confident delegates, and curious minds develop into globally aware citizens who genuinely care about the world around them. Watching that growth has been incredibly rewarding, and honestly, I’ve learned just as much from the students as they’ve learned from MUN. This year, I’m looking forward to deepening those experiences and supporting even more students in discovering what they’re capable of .
Secretary-General
Amy Shin

Greetings to all participants attending XIAMUN XI!
My name is Amy Shin, a senior in Xiamen International School, and it is my honor to serve you as the Secretary General for the 11th Xiamen Model United Nations. I started my MUN journey during my sophomore year. Then, as I continued to improve, I witnessed some delegates with outstanding diplomatic skills in those top MUN conferences. I have not only practiced critical thinking and communication skills through this process but have also learned how to accept my weaknesses and pursue an improved self amidst current challenges. This month marks my 6th MUN conference, and I’m excited to witness fruitful debates and well-crafted resolutions in this XIAMUN. Model United Nations means much more than simple simulation. It builds a highly competitive environment where one can embrace the identity of a global citizen, strengthen individual mindsets, and navigate various challenges. Everything starts from writing the first word of your resolution and speaking your first sentence in front of the stage. Be confident and fear no challenges. The MUN journey is all about self-improvement and tackling setbacks. In the end, you may find unexpected gains and personal growth. I am looking forward to seeing you all at the XIAMUN X conference, and I hope you will have a memorable experience.

Jana Chen

Greetings to all participants attending XIAMUN XI!
Hey everyone! I’m Jana, a sophomore in XIS.
Back in my first MUN, when I was in 7th grade, I had no idea what to do or what I was in for, and barely even qualified for the Participation Award as the only time I went on the podium and spoke, I stuttered and did not know that you can answer in “note form”.
To this day, I do not know the meaning and implications of “note form”.
But I do know that, from my almost 3 year MUN journey, that despite how scared I was after my 1st conferences, I came back and here I am, preparing for my 8th MUN as DSG. Not because I like the idea of endlessly editing resolutions or getting my amendments rejected, but because MUN is fun, and politics, convicting international criminals, and maintaining world peace is even more fun.
But for the sake of the website’s formatting, I will stop ranting, or in formal language, “I digress”, and hope to see you, the delegate, not only in XIAMUN XI, but also continuing your journey, participating in all the other MUNs in the world.
If you are scared, hungry, or need any help, talk to me! (I’m nice, I promise!)
See you soon!
Director General
Aurora Chou

Digital Administrator
Drishya Prasad

Greetings to all participants attending XIAMUN XI!
Greetings to all participants attending XIAMUN X. My name is Drishya Prasad and I’m a sophomore in Xiamen International School! Im the Digital Administrator and I have done 6 Conferences so far and this would be my 7th. Im in the secretariat team to gain some new experience, to try out something new out of my comfort zone! This would be my second time on the secretariat team and I’m excited on how XIAMUN XI would turn out. MUN is a place where you can talk about your inner knowledge, gain new knowledge. When I stepped in my first MUN conference I was nervous of speaking and to share my ideas towards other delegates, but as time flew I understood many things and started being calmer. I may feel nervous still but I know that each conference I will learn something new! And again, welcome to XIAMUN X making this an unforgettable experience!
